Welcome to Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply

We are your Grand Marais outdoor adventure store. Whether you are a veteran wilderness enthusiast or brand new to the outdoor life, we are excited to help you out. Take a trip through our store and you'll find high quality gear and clothing, hand-picked by our staff.

The summer season is short in Grand Marais, so we cram as much fun as possible into every glorious day! And we offer guided tours to share this summer fun. Try fly fishing, canoeing and hiking. Add in kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. If you are feeling bold, check out our kayaking trips to Isle Royale and Saganaga Lake. Or ask us how we can design a trip just for you.

If you are missing a few critical pieces for your outdoor adventure, check out our rental department, where you can find summer adventure equipment like canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and fat bikes. Want to make it an overnight adventure? You can rent tents and tarps; sleeping bags and pads; packs and food barrels. And your trip to the North Shore wouldn't be complete without fishing: you can rent kick boats, waders and rods & reels. Heck, you can even rent tackle and a fish finder.

Do you need some ideas to make the most of your summer fun?  Do you want to find the best fishing hole? A kid-friendly hiking trail? The most challenging fat bike route? Or tips for sharing the fun with your favorite four-legged friend? Stop by our store and talk to our team of outdoor experts. We love this place and we can't wait to share it with you!

By the way, did you see that winter northern lights image at the top of our page? If you didn't see it, wait for a moment as the pictures rotate. That is taken right here on the North Shore by Nace Hagemann, one of our local photographers. Ask us how you can hire him to photograph your own North Shore adventure. You can see more of his incredible work at http://nacehagemannphotography.smugmug.com/. And that beautiful nighttime picture of our store? Mark Tessier gets the credit. His photography can be seen at Sivertson Art Gallery right here in Grand Marais. Then there's that picture of the stand up paddle boards on the shore of Boulder Park. Jacob McCormick took that shot. Go to http://jacobmccormick.smugmug.com/ to see more of his stunning photography.
