Snowshoeing

Take the path less traveled

There is no better way to enjoy the pristine solitude of Northern Minnesota’s forests than on a pair of snowshoes. Let an experienced guide take you off the beaten path on an interpretive hike through the powdery woods of Cook County. Walk through snow covered trees, follow fox tracks, explore frozen beaver ponds, all under the safe and knowledgeable eye of an experienced guide. Bring the whole family and learn local natural history. Take the path less traveled and have a genuine North Shore experience.

We are now offering both private and group Snowshoeing Tours. Please note the price difference in the listings below.

DUE TO CURRENT STATE RESTRICTIONS, ALL TOURS ARE UNAVAILABLE RIGHT NOW. We can’t wait to get out on the trails with you, once it’s safer to do so! In the meantime, you can still rent or buy snowshoes from us. Visit us in Grand Marais or give us a call at 218-387-3136 to let us help you pick out the best snowshoes and accessories for you. Because of the natural distancing with snowshoeing, these are selling quickly, so give us a call soon.

When we are allowed to have our tours, they may look a little different, but Stone Harbor is here to help you recreate safely on the North Shore with our experienced guides. We are following the recommended guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and the state of Minnesota for guide policies and enhanced cleaning procedures.

We have always operated with small groups and continue to do so. If you do not wish to participate with others, you can request a private tour, although there is an additional cost for this. Outdoor recreating allows social distancing to be easily achievable most of the time, however we ask that you wear masks during closer interactions of six feet or less. Due to this recommended guideline, our complimentary transportation to and from the tour sites is unavailable until further notice.
