The Boreal Forest is amazing!
There is a certain reverence that enters your soul when you are in the woods. A sense of challenge, child-like awe and peace all at once. And there is no better place to experience nature’s own cathedral than the hiking trails of Cook County.
Are we being too immodest by bragging about this cathedral of greenery? It’s hard not to brag when we have Eagle Mountain, Minnesota’s highest peak. And Grand Portage’s High Falls, the highest waterfall in Minnesota. And Superior Hiking Trail, one of the nation’s most scenic hiking trails. And don’t forget about Mount Josephine. And Oberg Mountain. And the hiking trail to Devil’s Kettle.
Of course these are not jut any old hiking trails. They offer lush boreal forests and abundant wildlife. They boast babbling brooks, rushing waterfalls and spectacular views of Lake Superior. And while the best trails are closely held secrets, we want to share them with you.
Summer 2020 may look a little different, but Stone Harbor is here to help you recreate safely on the North Shore with our experienced guides. We are following the recommended guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and the state of Minnesota for guide policies and enhanced cleaning procedures.
We have always operated with small groups and continue to do so. If you do not wish to participate with others, you can request a private tour, although there is an additional cost for this. Outdoor recreating allows social distancing to be easily achievable most of the time, however we ask that you wear masks during closer interactions of six feet or less. Due to this recommended guideline, our complimentary transportation to and from the tour sites is unavailable until further notice.
