A Long-Standing Tradition on Hiatus

Picture of Santa and his sled dogs, along with two girls

It’s a tough decision but I am confident it is the right decision

A long-standing tradition here at Stone Harbor is on hiatus this year. From the beginning, we have had pictures with Santa and his dogs on Black Friday. Due to COVID precautions, we are putting it on hold until next year. Along with this, Grand Marais is not hosting the annual parade.

The pictures and parade have always been fun–not only for the kids but also for our staff. I have been talking to Santa on the phone, and he tells me he has always enjoyed the picture sessions with his dogs at Stone Harbor–it’s a chance for him to catch up with a lot of Stone Harbor customers, new and old. And the kids are always fun for him. But it is time for all of us to take precautions and be safe. And Santa is not getting any younger–he has to look out for his health too.

If you are in town this coming weekend, stop in and say hello. Starting today, Stone Harbor is offering Black Friday pricing for the whole week. If you can’t make it in, we will be happy to ship that special gift. Can’t decide on a gift? We have our gift cards.

Mostly, stay safe and have a great holiday season.
