Wintergreen for Kids and Other Fun Gift Ideas

If you take the family out snowshoeing, make sure everyone is dressed for the weather.

November is upon us. Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving and we will all be planning on Christmas shopping. And when it comes to Christmas shopping, the question is: What do we get the kids and grandkids? It is always great to get them interested in the outdoors and it is never too young to start getting equipment so they can join us in our adventures.

First they have to be well dressed, especially in the winter. Nothing can ruin an outing faster than a cold kid. Now is a great time to invest in some good Wintergreen kids clothing. Even though Wintergreen Northern Wear has gone out of business, we still have their children’s anorak shells and fleece, along with hats and mittens. It is the sort of product that you can pass down from child to child, generation to generation–it is that good of a product.

Now that you have warm clothes, what do they want to do outdoors? We have a selection of Madshus cross-country skis and boots for the little ones. We also have snowshoes designed just for kids by Louis Garneau.

Cross-country skiing is a great way for young ones to burn off extra energy.

And where are you going to go on those snowshoes and skis? How about buying them a nice ice fishing outfit so they can join you on the ice? You don’t want to go ice fishing you say? We also have nice spin cast outfits for the young ones to use in the summer on your next canoe trip. Of course, if you are going canoeing you will need a nice PFD for them to wear on the lakes.

So you see, we have not forgotten the young ones here at Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply. Whether you are local or from out of town, check us out before the Christmas selection gets depleted. We are here to help you every day form 10 AM to 7 PM, Sundays 10 AM to 6 PM.

And on a real bright spot, remember that come December 21st, the days start getting longer. As one of the Twin City radio personalities says, December 21st is really the first day of spring.
