Winter is here and we are here. There has been snow on the Gunflint Trail and folks are taking advantage of some early season skiing. Pincushion Mountain has been grooming trails and reports have been good. We are confident it is going to be a great winter.
What are we doing? First we are into the Christmas season. For example, this week we have all of our pants, sweaters and plaid shirts on sale at 20% off. But one other thing we are doing and have not publicized a whole lot is a sale of all of our canoes, new and used. Not only that, but you can put them on layaway for the winter with a non-refundable deposit of 50%. We will store them for you this winter and you pick them up in the Spring. All we ask is for you to have the canoe paid for by May15th. This includes our cedar strip canoes. If you are interested, drop an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
What events are coming up? First is the Gichigami Express Sled Dog Race January 6 – 8. Stone Harbor is a major sponsor of this race along with many Cook County businesses. Check out the web site at www.gichigamiexpress.com Let us know if you want to sponsor a team/ volunteer or just come on up to watch. The next event after that is opening of Lake Trout fishing in lakes outside the BWCA on January 12th. We will be at Musquash Lake again this year with our Snowtrekker tents and Clam ice houses. And then at end of January the John Beargrease Sled Dog Race starts on January 27th. There are a few great places in Cook County to watch this race, on the Sawbill Trail, The Landing at Devil Track Lake and Trail Center on the Gunflint Trail to name a couple.
So plan your early winter trip to Grand Marais now and stop in the store and say hello.
