The Best Weather of the Year – Going On Now in Grand Marais
What a weekend. If you weren’t here, you might not know what I’m talking about – you just have to come experience it to believe it. We listen to the weather in other parts of Minnesota and just smile, because it actually gets quite chilly at night around here. Hard to believe when it’s hitting the 90s in other parts of the the state.
Down by the East Bay (where our store is located) we have this huge, natural air conditioner. Yes, Lake Superior keeps our little corner of the world quite comfortable. Can you say 60 to 70 degrees each day? It has been just wonderful.
Every day, we have kayak tours going out at 10AM and 2 PM – but try to call ahead so you aren’t disappointed. And of course we have all of our other tours and rentals. Our staff and guides are hopping. It is really great to see all of our friends again.
We are still surprised with the never of folks that have never been to Grand Marais and are at a loss for what to do. Not to worry. We can direct you to many different activities, and give you firsthand knowledge of the county.
And remember, if you decide at the last minute that you want to go fishing, keep on mind we can take you fishing, set you up with a charter on the big lake, or rent you a rod, reel and tackle box. How great is that? Scott, Chris and Ben can tell you about all of their favorite places to fish. (Well, maybe not all of their favorite spots.) And, by the way, if you are going to go trout fishing on inland streams and lakes, the Mayfly hatch is about to hit. That always makes things interesting.
So, come on up. The roads are all open up here. The highways coming up have their usual road construction, but the storm damaged roads should not present any problem. We hope to see you soon!
