I went to Minneapolis to visit my parents. On Sunday morning, their neighbor showed up at the door about 7:15 am and let me know there was an owl stuck in a soccer net in the local park. Soon after, my father and I, armed with welding gloves and kitchen shears, were off to help. By about 8:00, I had him free and in my arms, thinking we where going to be on our way to the Raptor Center in St. Paul. He decided to stand up in my arms, released his talons and flew off to the woods. I love it when a plan comes together!
Webmaster note: When Chris isn’t busy rescuing owls, he is guiding Stone Harbor fishing trips and cooking feasts. Ask him about his cookbook when you get a chance.
