Whether you’re looking to jump into an activity that you’ve never tried before, or take it to the next level under the guidance of an expert, we have an adventure for you.

These are guided tours with all necessary gear included. Many are offered regularly throughout the week (see our calendar for details), and others may be arranged by special request.

Lake Superior Guided Sea Kayaking ToursLake Superior Guided Sea Kayak Tour

Experience the Lake Superior shoreline like you never have before, from a sea kayak. Wetsuit, kayak, paddle and other required gear provided. Beginners welcome – no previous kayaking experience is needed. All tours subject to weather.

  • Morning Half-Day Tours. Launch from East Bay Beach. ($45/person, includes snack) Available every day of the week, 10 am to 1 pm. BOOK YOUR TOUR!
  • Afternoon Half-Day Tours. Launch from East Bay Beach. ($45/person, includes snack) Available every day of the week, 2-5 pm. BOOK YOUR TOUR!
  • Full-Moon Tours. Launch from East Bay Beach, paddle in view of the full moon. ($60/person) BOOK YOUR TOUR!
  • Evening Tours and Full Day Tours are also available by special request, contact us or call 218-387-3136 for pricing and registration information.

ACA Sea Kayak InstructionACA Sea Kayak Instruction

Learn sea kayaking or advance your skills with a certified ACA instructor. We offer classes at a variety of levels, to equip you with the knowledge and experience you need to sea kayak on your own in the future. Important safety skills are also covered.   • Introduction to Kayaking ($100/person)
  • Kayaking Quick-Start Course ($60/person)
  • Essentials of Kayak Touring ($100/person)
  • Coastal Kayaking – Basic Strokes and Rescues ($110/person)
  • Coastal Kayaking – Strokes and Maneuvers Refinement ($110/person)

Fly Fishing

The northeastern tip of Minnesota offers over 100 stream trout lakes, and some of the state’s finest fly fishing – join us to see why! Tours are led by an experienced fly fishing guide and include all equipment, no previous experience necessary. All tours subject to weather.

  • Introduction to Fly Casting. Learn the basics of fly casting technique. ($55/person for two hours) Scheduled upon request, contact us to arrange.
  • Tenkara Tuesdays. Tenkara is a traditional Japanese method of fly fishing where only a rod, fly, and line are used.  ($55/person) Tuesdays 10 am to 1 pm OR 2 pm to 5 pm. BOOK YOUR TOUR!
  • All-Day Still Water Float Trips. Join our guide on an inland lake as you fish for brook, brown and rainbow trout, as well as bass and pike. ($150/person) contact us to arrange.
  • Full-Day Tributary Trout Fishing. Join our guide at a local Lake Superior tributary, where you will spend the day fishing the stream for trout. ($150/person) Scheduled upon request, contact us to arrange.

Rock Climbing

The elevation begins to rise just off Lake Superior’s shoreline, making for incredible top-rope rock climbing opportunities with breathtaking views. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced climber, you’ll be challenged. All equipment (plus lunch) is included on these full-day trips. All tours subject to weather.

  • Full-Day Climbing Trip. Choose from a variety of climbing spots, depending on your skill level – Palisade Head, Shovel Point, Mystic Mountain, and Carlton Peak. ($140/person) Tuesdays 10 am to 4 pm or Fridays 10 am to 4 pm. BOOK YOUR TOUR!

BWCA Daytrips

If you would like to experience the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, but don’t have time for a full trip, our daytrips are a great option. Come see what it’s like to canoe and portage in one of the most pristine wilderness areas in the country. Suitable for beginners. All tours subject to weather.

  • Guided Boundary Waters Daytrip. Join our guide as we spend the day exploring classic lakes of the BWCA. Our experienced guide will work with your needs to help create the perfect outing. Great for groups and families. ($125/person) Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm; Thursdays 10 am to 4 pm; Tuesdays 10 am to 4 pm. BOOK YOUR TOUR!

“Pam and I are still talking about our trip to Grand Marais and selling Stone Harbor every chance we get (including me showing off my new lighted water bottle [that Jack] hooked me up with!” Gary told us in an email when he sent these pictures. “We can’t wait to come back!”

Trip Preview: Guided Rock Climbing Tours
