Father’s Day Musings from a Grandfather

Picture of Jack's Granddaughters

These two know that smiles are the way to
Grandpa Jack’s heart (and ice cream).

Father’s Day is not just for fathers.  Remember there are also a lot of grandfathers out there.

What can you get grandpa that will be really meaningful? Maybe a picture like this one. Grandkids make my day and my office is papered with their pictures.

This one is special for a few reasons. First, because they are who they are. Second, they are showing off jackets that I gave them. Yup, I enjoy giving them presents. Probably does more for me than getting presents from them. They know how to get to Grandpa Jack’s heart. And of course there is the obligatory Dairy Queen. There is nothing like summer with the grandkids!

So Grandpa, when you are thinking about what you want for Father’s Day, why not take a short trip with your grandkids? Stop on in and we can help you outfit the grandkids and plan some fun activities to do with them. Short hikes, long hikes. A day of fishing on one of our nearby lakes. How about a ride on the Alpine Slide at Lutsen Mountain? Lunch at Trail center with a sundae for dessert. Pizza at Sven and Ole’s or My Sister’s Place. The Chicago Bay Market in Hovland has great pizza and sandwiches. All of these are kid-friendly. And, as most of you know, so is Stone Harbor.

Happy Father’s Day to all!
