Fishing Opener in Minnesota defies explanation. Sure, you can fish for walleye, northern pike and sauger from May 11th, 2013 to February 23rd, 2014. But fishing on any other day just isn’t the same. If you are feeling ambitious, you can start your fishing at midnight.
Of course, the age-old Cook County question is “Will the fishing opener be on ice this year?” In fact, we decided to put some fun in that question with our First Annual Ice Out Prediction Contest. Regardless of when ice out finally occurs, our fly fishing tours are sure to make the wait worthwhile!
Since everyone along the North Shore is talking about the steelhead run, we we are posting steelhead alerts on our blog. Weather conditions affect the timing and quality of the run, so you may want to check back regularly to see how it is going. And if you’re planning to fish in a river or stream, be sure to look at Chris’s posting on River Safety.
