We love what the folks at Wild River Academy are doing! These amazing people lead canoe trips down the Minnesota River and use the experience to educate their paddlers about the river’s beauty, community engagement, history, and environmental achievements and concerns.
This fall they will be canoeing the entire Mississippi River, from its headwaters down to the Gulf of Mexico (that’s roughly 2,320 miles, for those of you who are counting). Along the way, they will engage river communities in discussions about energy sources and potential alternatives.
On Sunday, May 5th, they are raising money for this ambitious trip with their Beats for Boats fundraiser. For a $20 suggested donation, you can enjoy the taco bar, beer from Fulton Brewery and live music from The Walker Brothers Band and Step Rockets. The live music starts at 6:00 and word is you may even see Natalie playing saxaphone.
